Immanuel Velikovsky: “Worlds in Collision” 68 Years Later – Journal of a UFO Investigator

David Halperin blows the dust off this volume which is “a book of wars in the celestial spheres that took place in historical times” which he describes as “a 400-page proclamation of the unremembered.” And Henry Bauer, who many years ago wrote a book entitled Beyond Velikovsky: The History of a Public Controversy, continues his bleak assessment of science by pointing out that Science is NOT self-correcting (How Science has Changed) VII. The peer-review process that has dominated research for decades “is pervaded by conflicts of interest” and as a consequence errors are not corrected, minority or dissenting views are suppressed, and non-scientific influences are running the show. Oh dear. (LP)
