Fairy Census – Beachcombing’s Bizarre History Blog

The Fairy Census consists of 500 reports of fairy sightings from around the world, received between 2014 and 2017. It’s available as a free pdf on the Fairist website. The census can be viewed as a kind of follow-up to Seeing Fairies: From the Lost Archives of the Fairy Investigation Society, Authentic Reports of Fairies in Modern Times by Majorie Johnson. Edited by Simon Young, the new census is published in association with Magical Folk: British and Irish Fairies, 500 AD to the Present, edited by Simon Young and Ceri Houlbook. Says Young: “I am convinced of the sincerity of the vast, vast majority of respondents. Whether you believe in fairies or not these people clearly had extraordinary experiences, experiences that sometimes changed their lives.” (PH)
